Usher: this is so not funny!
This is a follow up to my June 12, 2008 article titled Usher’s Fans Repay His Disloyalty. This week, folks in my site stats the New York Daily News New York Daily Snooze, as the New York Post calls them, poached my article about Usher’s sales drop and that it was not due to industry sales being down, as artist Lil’ Wayne debuted with over a million copies sold of his CD, in the week proceeding Usher’s massive underperformance.
No one had commented on the sales decline – all the press touted was that Usher went #1 again with his new CD “Here I Stand.”

However, remembering how he’d told off his fans, which I had written about last year and warned him if he didn’t shut it, he would lose sales when the new CD came out, which is what ultimately ended up happening a year later, I decided to comment on “Here I Stand” selling 650,000 less copies in the first week of release, than his previous CD “Confessions” (Confessions sold 1.1 million the first week on the shelves).
However, the New York Daily News added a twist. They claim Usher is “livid” which I don’t doubt, is blaming his label and that he fired everyone and wants to rehire his mommy. That, I can’t confirm, cause, well, I don’t know the negro.

Once again, serves you right for telling off your fans. It’s not their fault they got confused and thought you married a man. She acts like one. She acts like she is your husband. Not to mention, she left hers for you.

Therefore, stop blaming everyone under the sun for your massive sales decline. You are to blame.

But Usher is said to have been disappointed that it sold 433,000 in its first week, compared with his last CD, 2004’s “Confessions,” which had sales of 1.1 million in its first seven days.
Medina, who’s an expert at holding artists’ hands, reassured Usher that his latest sales were nothing to be ashamed of, considering the current climate of the record business. But then, three weeks later, Lil Wayne’s album, “Tha Carter III,” sold more than one million copies its first week out.
“Usher was livid!,” claims an insider. “He threatened to fire everyone.”

Remember last year on July 21, 2007 when I wrote an article titled Usher Serves Fan Site…Legal Papers, warning Usher, aged 28, that his fans were going to let him have it for his abusive speech concerning them, because he did not like the things they were saying about his manipulative, adulterous, felonious fiancée (now wife), 38-year-old Tameka Foster, that drove a wedge between him and his mother. Remember I wrote they were going to hit him where it hurts – album sales. Well, now they have.

His “Confessions” CD prior to the rants against his fans sold 1,100,000 copies in its first week of release, which constituted very strong sales. His new CD released this month, Here I Stand, sold 433,000 copies in its first week. That’s over a 60 percent drop in sales. Nuff said.
One can reason it away saying people aren’t selling as much records as they use to, but may I direct you to next week’s Billboard charts, where artist Lil Wayne debuts at #1, selling 900,000 copies of his new CD.
To make matters worse, it sounds like the marriage, built on adultery, is already souring on old Usher:

Usher’s, I can’t even say it, w…w…wolf…wife, Tameka Foster, has slammed fellow black women saying we don’t like her because she is dark skinned, not 25 and not a size 2. It sounds like you are the one with the issues, Tameka.
First off, all that is pure rubbish. People did not take to you for the simple reason it was being said in the industry and then in the press that you were antagonizing Usher’s mother and even worse, you left your husband, who you have young children with, for Usher. People didn’t like that.
You wanted Usher and you broke up your family to get him. Now you’ve got him…and a whole lot of bad publicity with it. The public generally doesn’t applaud a story like that, regardless of whether or not the person is black, white or Hispanic, so stop trying to spin it. You went after Usher like a wolf.
I ask, if someone broke up your marriage to Usher, would you want the public rooting for her assuming that it would be a her.

To prove what you said is ridiculous, I’ll cite a few examples. Many women in the world have stated that actor Denzel Washington is a handsome man. His wife is a beautiful dark skinned woman in her 40’s and they make a great looking couple. People root for them and they are well liked.
People didn’t root for you because they don’t respect your conduct as mentioned above.
Another example – the glamorous Angelina Jolie, while in her 20’s, started dating Brad Pitt, 11 years her senior. Only thing is, he was married to actress Jennifer Aniston first. People screamed home wrecker at model-esque Jolie when it happened. While some people are rooting for them, a lot of people are not, siding with Aniston.
And the moral of the story is I am right and you are wrong quit your whining. And one more thing, how are you going to play the race card on your own race…

And from the troublesomeness that is R&B singer Usher’s bride, Tameka Foster, who put him up to suing his own fans, comes another report.
According to an interview published a week ago, his wife’s sister stated she threatened to have her killed for doing a tabloid tell all, exposing her as an ex-con that is mean to her family.
It’s one of those times, sadly for Tameka, that a tabloid was truthful, and pretty much shattered the image she tried to project to the world of being a doting decent fiancée.
However, was it necessary to threaten her life over words? It’s not like she lied about you, as you did engage in illegal conduct that landed you in jail.
Her sister didn’t lie about that and it makes me think she is not lying about the death threat either.
After all these years of being a stylist, does Tameka not know that the press would have found out about her past sooner or later anyway. The naiveté between you and Usher is somewhat surprising.
All you had to do was respond to the allegations…and dodging them this long doesn’t make one believe you are innocent in all of this. While you already have a record and you have served your time, so that’s done, you need to treat your family better.
Oh Usher, you sure know how to pick’em. You better be faithful when you go on tour. She doesn’t seem like she would pull a Left Eye and go after your house via burning it down. She seems like she’d go after you.
Everybody would just open the paper the next day and see a headline that states: “We’re Gonna Miss Usher.”

It was reported late last week that Usher married his manipulative fiancée, Tameka Foster. I really do not believe it is going to work out well, as the spiritual circumstances under which they married is detrimental. I’ve got a really bad feeling about the whole thing. Very bad feeling.
However, it is his life, and God grants us all free will to do what we wish, within specific legal bounds.
I do believe this situation is going to effect his career as well, as his fans are not fond of his bride. Before people go blaming it on jealousy, I wouldn’t. I attribute it to his bride’s attitude and disdain for people she now believes are under her, even though she’s used someone else’s name and celebrity to get this so called status.
I hope the fact that they married in a lawyer’s office, which I don’t care for, as I believe church is the place to wed, means he got a prenuptial agreement, as I wondered out loud in an article a week ago due to the initial surprise wedding ceremony that was cancelled. Last week I wrote the “wedding needed to stay cancelled,” too bad he did it anyway.
His mother released a statement to a press outlet via email, stating she was not in attendance at the union in the lawyer’s office. A shame really, as who wants to marry without their living parents there.

Ok, now that I have been formal in my writing on this subject, it’s time to cut loose: Usher, when Tameka ties you up, locks you in the basement for a month and cuts all the crotches out your pants, don’t say nothing to nobody because you were warned by everybody.
And another thing, we don’t want to hear about this on your new album. People don’t want to hear the tracks, “Tameka stabbed me,” “Confessions from the basement,” “Where is the money in my bank account” or “What do you mean it’s not my baby.”

Usher Cancels Wedding

Singer Usher, 28, was scheduled to get married this past Saturday at L.A. Reid’s house in the Hamptons (New York). However, he called off the wedding to Tameka Foster, 38, at the last minute. Many have different theories as to why, but it is for Usher to say. Either way, I think he made the right decision.
This was a wise choice. That wedding needs to stay cancelled. God’s blessings will not be over a marriage where the bride or groom left their spouse and three kids.
No one needs to enter into a union under those circumstances. She was not the one for you, Usher. Further complicating things with her mischievous conduct that so many have been trying to warn you about.
Holding on to your pride when people are trying to politely save you from disaster isn’t wise. We all make mistakes, bad choices and sometimes fall in love with people who are not right for us, but the key is to stop yourself before you go over that cliff.

It has been revealed that singer Usher’s fiancée, who left her husband and three kids to be with him, has a criminal past.
I’m not surprised at this news. Something was telling me to check online, but I didn’t, because I was too busy. But somebody else did.
I thought that regarding her because the level of manipulation and conniving his fiancée is displaying, had to have gotten her into trouble at some point.
His fiancée, Tameka Foster, 38, was arrested for theft and separately welfare fraud.
Dude, I hope you have a prenup. Not because she is an ex-con, because after people do their jail time and are truly reformed, no one should hold that against them.
But considering Tamkea has a penchant for theft, has wreaked havoc in your personal and professional life, alienated and extricated most of your longtime family, friends and business associates, I am of the belief that she is not reformed.
I couldn’t dream of doing that to someone I was dating, let alone marrying. Would any of you reading the site do the above-mentioned things to someone you claim you care about.
People who truly care about you, try to help you build bridges, not burn them.
So far Usher has offended his fans that are his bread and butter, numerous writers, a prominent DJ (Tom Joyner, who said he threatened to beat him up over talking about his fiancée Tameka) a radio personality (Wendy Williams), publicists, and most of all, his mom, who was his loyal manager of 10 years, helping him build everything he has, that if he is not careful and things go wrong with Tameka, she just might take. PRENUP.
You could go from singing “My Boo” to being broke.
My question is, is it worth offending all these people, especially your mamma. And where will your career be without your fans. You can’t do this singer thing without them. You do realize that.
You can’t have a cart without the horse, as who will carry the cart along and take it places. You can’t do that on your own.
Be careful of people who egg you on to do destructive things. There are better ways to handle offenses than threatening physical violence and Joyner, just like everyone else is entitled to their opinion.
Though I have not seen the movie, only the trailer and a couple clips on TV, why does this situation bring to memory Misery?

“Tameka is an ex-con whose first lover was gunned down in a drug-related execution-style shooting.” Poor Usher has no idea who he’s marrying,” Tameka’s half sister Valencia Foster told The Enquirer.
” He’s a wonderful guy – but Tameka is giving him a big-time snow job.” The scene for deception was set at a “getting to know the in-laws” dinner in Tameka’s hometown of Oakland, Calif., on July 7 as the couple finalized plans for a July 28 wedding.
Valencia, 49, explained that Usher led a prayer before dinner, then turned to her and said: “‘You know all the family secrets – tell me about them.’ Before I could say a word, Tameka kicked me so hard under the table she almost put a hole in my leg,” Valencia said.”
Then she pulled me aside and whispered: ‘Don’t tell him anything.’ “Tameka, fleeing from a troubled home life, moved in with Valencia when she was 11. “She arrived with $14 in food stamps in her purse,” recalled Valencia.
“She turned out to be a nightmare. “By 14, she had become involved with a married drug dealer five years older than her, Valencia says. “I banned him from the house – but four years later she was pregnant with his baby when his car was ambushed and he was riddled with bullets. Tameka missed being with him in the car by minutes.
“Court records show that Tameka has been arrested twice. In 1991, she served 20 days in the Los Angeles County Jail for petty theft and was placed on probation for two years. Records indicate she had previously served jail time.
An earlier arrest in Alameda County, Calif., involved “some kind of welfare fraud, and she was sentenced to perform community service,” said Valencia. Tameka, Usher’s former wardrobe stylist, has three children and is expecting the singer’s baby in the fall.
Usher, 28, recently shocked fans by reportedly firing his manager mother and replacing her with Tameka. The 38-year-old I thought she was supposed to be 36 bride asked her father, John Foster, to give her away at the wedding in the Hampton’s, the tony New York enclave.
But Tameka threatened to ban her mom from the ceremony – because she had lost her false teeth! “Tameka told her: ‘You’re not coming to my wedding without teeth,’ ” Valencia said. “I asked her why she didn’t buy her mother a new set, and she told me: ‘Let her get her own f****** teeth- she didn’t take care of me when I was young.’
“Valencia says Tameka’s mom bought the new teeth herself – and she believes one day Usher will discover the truth about his new bride. “Usher is so much in love he’s under her spell,” she said. “But he’s going to find out she’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” – National Enquirer

This is a follow up on my article from July 7, 2007, titled Usher Threatens Fan Site With Legal Action. TMZ has now jumped on the bandwagon, falsely claiming the New York Daily Snooze News, who did a story on it this week, reported it first, when the Baller Status site did at the outset of the month. How typical, quite a few of the mainstream publications and sites report stories claiming they are the first to break it, when it was already on a well read, non-mainstream site elsewhere.
Publications should be careful of doing that, as some of these blogs and non-mainstream sites get millions of hits per month, and it will leave readers wondering why you are yelling out first, like the alleged first person to post in a feedback section of a blog, when you’re actually like the twelfth. Burn.

But I digress…Usher is back to threatening this poor child who runs Usher Forever in his honor in what has got to be one of the most unwise PR moves I have witnessed in a long time.
Not to mention, it is very mean to sic two lawyers on a fan. You’re not doing her a favor by letting her be your fan. You’ve got this thing backwards.
It’s only serving to make Usher enemies online – fans now former fans. Even people who aren’t fans and didn’t have an opinion on him one way or the other are calling him terrible names on numerous sites’ feedback sections. Now you’re both getting dissed, instead of just your stan fiancée.
How are you going to threaten your top fan site with legal action because they’ve made comments about your fiancée you don’t approve of, when it’s just opinions, not libel. The person who runs the site, Erika Jackson, is right, you are being “petty.”

You act like you’re marrying Mother Teresa or Mary Poppins – you should have expected criticism under the circumstances.
I don’t care about her age or what she looks like – the mere fact that she’s reportedly had run-ins with your mom, of all people, and is said to have encouraged you to get rid of all these people who were staples in your life, and left her husband and three kids, doesn’t look right.
If gives the impression that she has something on him, because this story just doesn’t make sense – well, unless he’s having a Britney Spears mental moment.
His behavior has been downright bizarre. The press release he issued a week ago against the advice of his reps doesn’t even sound like him.
Fans have made negative comments about his former girlfriends in the past, granted, they didn’t call any of them a man, and he did nothing. Now all of a sudden he is on a mission to shut his own fans down. His own fans.
By the way, in that press release last week, you sound like a hostage with someone holding a gun on you, telling you what to write.
Usher v. Bloggers
Usher slammed the bloggers in his tirade of a press release last week. All the bloggers in turn collectively went, “I know he’s not talking about me!” Some feedback:
Usher wants to set the record straight about his old woman controlling him and his career. The old woman probably told him to put this out. Come on, he doesn’t expect us to believe the “face cream junkie” is running things with Tameka. Ms. Patton who was fired by Tameka this year knows what’s up. – Bossip
Usher released an open statement to all his fans (& haters) via People magazine yesterday. Of course, it was concerning…you guessed it – Tameka Foster. Mr. Raymond addresses all the rumors – fact or fiction – in his write up, including the future wedding date with Tameka, his alleged threat to radio personality Tom Joyner, and firing his mother as his manager. Of course, he forgot to bring up those recent pictures of him leaving the club with some random individual that the media pinned on him last week, but I guess his hand grew tired… Usher does NOT PLAY when it comes to Ms. Tameka. Celebs are killing me these days. Ursh of all people should have known the media circus he was stirring up when he PURPOSELY put his business out there in the first place. You aint fooling nobody Ursh with this new “open letter” about leaving you and Tameka alone. I would have more respect for you if you just admitted that you put your business out there for publicity purposes like you always do when you’re about to drop an album (I know the truth….don’t have me put you on blast even more). It seems all the media scrutiny is getting to him. Oh well…This is a classic case of using the media when you want e.g. the Chilli/’Confessions’ saga, but when it doesn’t favour him then he starts to rant. He needs to realise that it all comes with the territory of celebrity, then again he claims to know this already. I’m thinking this may be a PR ploy in the lead-up to the release of his new album later this year.
The more I hear about this, the more I lose what little respect I have for Usher. It’s unlikely that he’ll win; I’m sure his team didn’t even think this would get as much press as it has. Either way, Usher’s reputation is in a mess right now. – That Grape Juice
You know things are rough when you’re fighting with your own No. 1 fan site. Sources say Usher is trying to shut down usherforever.com because the woman behind the site, Erika Jackson, doesn’t care for his fiancee, Tameka Foster.
“He’s had his lawyer send her papers,” said an insider. Foster has proved unpopular with many fans, amid rumors she was responsible for the firing of Usher’s manager (and mom), Jonetta Patton.
In May, Usher parted ways with longtime publicist Simone Smalls, and recently his other longtime rep, Chris Chambers, left the team. Chambers is said to have disapproved of the “open letter” Usher released to fans last week.
The singer wrote: “It’s disturbing that the media and bloggers (under the guise as ‘fans’) continuously speculate on the personal aspects of my life.”
